IGP, Suleiman Abba |
Abba insisted that it was until the security agents worked together before activities of criminals would be curtailed.
The IG stated this yesterday while decorating the newly promoted Deputy
Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) and Assistant Inspectors General of
Police (AIGs).
He charged the newly promoted police officers to be dedicated,
hardworking and revitalise their energies in their assigned
responsibilities as always to the service of their fatherland.
Abba said the police expected the officers to work harder and be more
dedicated in whatever assignment they were given, urging them to work
hand in hand with other sister agencies in the upcoming election.
"As you all know, promotion is a privilege; it’s not a right. You know
the conditions for promotions, so I am calling on these newly promoted
officers to be recommitted and dedicated to the service and welcome them
into the Police management team.
These officers have been working with me since, including the past
three weeks I assumed office. I urge them to contribute to the fight
against terrorism." he said
He also said the promotion was coming at a time the country was facing
serious security challenges which he said was threatening the peace of
Nigeria.
The minister of police affairs, Abduljelili Adesiyan, in his address,
thanked Mr. President, for approving the promotion of the newly promoted
officers.
He enjoined those promoted to dedicate their service to the country,
adding that their gallant efforts were appreciated, especially with the
Boko Haram threat.
In appreciation, one of the promoted DIGs, Dan'Azumi Job Doma, thanked
the force and the police service Commission to the promotion, urging
other officers who were not promoted to be patient and work hard, as
their promotion was on the way.
